THE LLOYD RAKUSEN LONDON MARATHON LJWB TEAM

About us

Leeds Jewish Welfare Board - Positively Changing Lives!

This year's marathon is dedicated to Lloyd Rakusen, who sadly passed away on the 15th February 2023. Lloyd was our 'Superhero' who spent 20 years running marathons and raising over £100,000 for LJWB. He touched so many peoples lives and was an inspiration to all who knew him.

His legacy will live on as his son Philip will be taking over and following in his footsteps, although I'm sure Lloyd would have something to say if he beat his personal best...... Let's do this for Lloyd and make him proud.

It's that time of the year again when 10 amazing people from our community give up their time by pounding the streets of Leeds, in preparation for running 26 miles at this year's London Marathon on Sunday 23rd April.

Out of our runners, 8 of them have never run a marathon before and they are really putting themselves through their paces, so your support is so important to them.

Our runners this year are - from L-R

Marcus Edge, Mark Manning, Melanie Howell (unfortunately Mel has had to pull out), Rebecca Manning, Charles Goldstone, Sam Warner, Nick Warner, Phil Rakusen, Ashley O'Grady (unfortunately due to a knee injury, Ashley has had to pull out) and David Samuel.  Replacing Ashley is Candice Warner and replacing Melanie is Ed Rivlin.

Please help to keep them motivated, by supporting and donating to their fundraising page

Leeds Jewish Welfare Board (LJWB), delivers an extensive range of registered care and community support services in North Leeds providing help and support to over 800 people every month.

Thank you to everyone who has donated on this platform, we really appreciate your support

As Lloyd would always say when signing off.......

Onwards and Upwards

Shalom X
