About us
NSPCC is the UK's leading children's charity. We've been looking out for children for over 130 years, fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. We help children who've been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.
Childline
Childline is a free service for every child and young person - here whenever they need support or advice. In 2020/21, Childline counsellors delivered over 200,000 counselling sessions to children and young people. Mental and emotional health concerns make up over a third of all the counselling sessions delivered, with concerns ranging from coping with stress and loneliness to depression and anxiety. Whatever problems or dangers they're facing we’re here to listen – 365 days a year.
The difference we make
From our campaigns to our services - we strive to make an impact through everything we do. Between 2016 and 2021, we helped to make over 6.6 million children safer from abuse. We’ve developed new services to help families, campaigned to change laws, shared information about abuse and how to recognise it, and developed new tools for children, parents and professionals.
