My Story

There are 22,050 new cases of gynaecological cancer every year in the UK, this means 60 people receive this life-changing news each and every day. Sadly, 21 of these women die a day from their gynaecological cancer.

My running journey started just over 2 years ago, when I embarked on my first running challenge in aid of the Eve Appeal. I was spurred on to do this following the womb cancer diagnosis of my Auntie Linda. It involved me running a painstaking 5K a day through the unpredictable English winter weather in November 2020. Very sadly Linda lost her battle on day 10 of the running challenge and never saw me through to the end, completing 30 days, 30 runs, 157.5km and over 180,00 steps.

In October 2022 I embarked on my first Half Marathon in aid of The Eve Appeal, taking part in the London Royal Parks Half. In the moment of completing this run, I knew had to do it all over again and commit to a the full marathon.

Not only will I be running in memory of my Auntie, I am runing for everyone who is at risk of developing a gynaecological cancer and for those who care about someone who is affected whether it be a mother, sister, wife or friend!

The Eve Appeal are instrumental in changing the conversation around gynaecological cancer and female health. Funding research and raising awareness into the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal.

❤️ A donation of £10 could cover the cost of a blood sample collection kit
❤️ A donation of £25 could provide an hour of confidential support from a gynaecological cancer nurse specialist
❤️A donation of £60 is enough to pay for information on the 5 gynae cancers to be sent to 20 people
❤️A donation of £135 could support the analysis stage of Eve's FORECEE research aiming to develop one test for four cancers
