My Story

In April 2023 I have the privilege of representing a chairty that is close to my heart and will be forever be in debt to. I get to run the iconic TCS London Marathon for Great Ormand Street Hospital to help take the research, technology, facilities and care GOSH delivers to the next level.

Over the past 2 years, the hospital has become a familiar place for me and my family, our son Dougie was referred to GOSH in late 2020 and after multiple consultations under went his first major surgery at the hospital (Laryngeal cleft repair). Subsequently complications after the surgery led him and us to have a lengthy stay in Intensive care, with ups and downs along the way, the staff were incredible in handling such a worrying time. In one instance saving his life with emergency action.

All this was in the height of the Pandemic, meaning only one parent was able to stay by Dougie's side, but throughout the 4 month period the hospital were able to provide clean, suitable and close by accommodation for the other parent, something that we are truely forever thankful for. But this wouldn't be achievable if it wasn't for the chairty, so that is why donations to this fantastic hospital is so so important.

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) treats the most seriously ill children from across the UK and sees the most rare and difficult-to-treat childhood cancers.

By sponsoring me and donating to the hospital, you are making an impact in helping GOSH give children with cancer the extraordinary care, expertise and facilities they need.

Every week, around five children in the UK lose their lives to cancer. That’s five families who are faced with the worst news possible.

For every child, parent and family – it's time to beat it.

It’s time to push the boundaries. Through world-class facilities, pioneering research projects and cutting-edge treatments, we can help build a better future for children with cancer.

There’s still a long way to go. But every mile matters. And we'll get there together.

Together we can run it. Together we can help beat childhood cancer.
