My Story
Re-engage has kindly given me the opportunity to raise funds for their important work and I am immensely grateful for all your donations.
I believe we must do all we can to maintain the social connections between the generations. We have a duty of care towards our elderly, to provide the love and support they need, to learn from their wisdom, and simply to give back to them what they gave to us.
Society’s evolution has brought smaller families and longer lifespans. People are far more mobile, with children and grand-children often living far away from their parents and grand-parents.
These changes contribute to the fact that, as we get older, our social circles diminish, and we are vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation. This affects millions of elderly people who have fewer and fewer people to turn with many of their friends and family gone from their life.
Re-engage is doing a fantastic job making life less lonely for thousands of older people every year. Through their services they bring generations together, providing free, regular companionship, encouraging genuine friendships to blossom between people of all ages.
“When you get to my age, all you do is look back on the life you had, but Re-engage has given me something to look forward to, something to live for.” Ina, 96
I thank you with all my heart and lungs for your support in raising funds for Re-Engage.
😊
