My Story
My dear grandpa, Basil, lived with myelodysplasia (MDS) for the last few years of his life. He was a wonderful man who was incredibly sociable speaking to anybody who came across his path, and he would always be able to offer some truly great advice for any problem you might have.
MDS is a type of rare blood cancer where you don't have enough healthy blood cells. As the condition progress, your bone marrow gets gradually taken over by the immature blood cells, which don't work properly.
I am raising money for the MDS UK Patient Support Group to help this great charity continue their work in raising awareness of MDS.
