My Story
I’m running the London Marathon 2023 for Team Mind in memory of my kind, clever, funny brother Pete who died on 15th January 2022 aged thirty-eight years.
I also plan to run the Barcelona Marathon in March, then later the Leeds and the Edinburgh Marathons in May.
I couldn’t have asked for a more curious sibling to grow up with, or a more supportive big brother as he turned out to be. I am so proud to be his sister and I can’t imagine the rest of my life without him in it.
My brother was also a much loved son, daddy to three young daughters, husband, cousin, nephew, friend to many. Pete was a lecturer, academic and researcher in Victorian & Romantic literature, author, a director of Labour Against Antisemitism.
Pete and I had been training to run a marathon together earlier this year in memory of our dad, but sadly this wasn’t to be. Leeds Mind have been so supportive through their Suicide Bereavement Service since then and I would like to thank them so much for their support.
