My Story
In July this year, my dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a grade 4 brain tumour.
My dad was incredibly lucky to be able to receive surgery in September, where an incredible surgical team fully ressected the tumour using an innovative technique. In mid-October, his last scan already showed new growths. Whilst he undergoes radiation treatment and chemotherapy, at this time, there is no curative treatment for this type of cancer and few patients survive more than a year after diagnosis.
In April 2023, I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for Brain Research UK, a charity funding research to help those affected by neurological disorders, including brain tumours such as glioblastoma. Research into such aggressive cancers is so important to give patients more time with their loved ones, and hopefully one day come up with a cure.
I truly appreciate all of your support, and am so grateful to Brain Research UK for the lifesaving work they fund 🫶🏼.
