My Story
My marathon story started in April 2019 after watching & supporting the marathon runners in London, I had the great idea to enter the ballot!!.... never thought I'd get in!!
I'm now repeating my 2020 training plan.... Covid wasn't on it! … but only got up to 19 miles. Myself and a surprising large number of ladies from my running group ran/walked the virtual 2020 London Marathon round the streets of Tewkesbury on the October of 2020. I’m yet to run a full marathon distance.
I've ran nearly 200 miles since the start of this year, and have just two more long runs of 21 & 23 miles left to do on my training plan before the big day in 7 weeks’ time.
I’m feeling excited and more prepared than in 2020, although my knees aren’t!! As in 2020 I’d like to raise some money for Battledown Centre for Children & Families where Ewan (my son) first started his school journey and where I work 1 day a week.
Battledown is a Special School and part of the SAND Academy Trust providing specialist assessment of children between the ages of 2 to 11 and covering the whole range of additional needs.
These include: Communication and Social Interaction Difficulties, Learning Difficulties, Speech and Language Delay/Disorder, Developmental Delay, Physical, Medical difficulties and Sensory Impairment, Emotional and Behaviour Difficulties.
Battledown was the best start for Ewan who is now in Sixth form doing A Levels.
Any donation large and small are welcome and will be fully appreciated by the Battledown team.
