My Story

So for the past 3 years I have given up some of my spare time and volunteer as a community first responder in my local area. I am part of wickham market community first responders group which operates on behalf of East of England Ambulance service to attend life threatening events 

Community first responders (CFRs) are volunteers who are trained by EEAST to attend certain types of emergency calls in the area where they live or work. Their aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes before the ambulance crew arrives.

Our role is to help stabilise the patient and provide the appropriate care until the more highly skilled ambulance crew arrives on scene to take over the treatment.

The reason that we need to raise vital funds for our group is that we have to purchase our kits for our group, the expensive parts of our Kit include a defibrillator, a pulse oximeter, blood pressure machine and thermometer.
