My Story

I must be mad!! London marathon for the third time!! Its not as if I relish running those 26.2 long miles!! But its soooooo important to raise as much money as I can for Cancer Research in memory of my beautiful cousin Kate and for my amazing friend Lorraine who is currently fighting this cruel disease.

Kate received the shock diagnosis of bile duct cancer in February 2022. For the following four months she fought a brave and courageous battle, enduring intensive chemotherapy and treatment. Kate passed away in June 2022 at the age of just 44.

Lorraine is currently undergoing her final chemotherapy sessions for tumours on her back and lungs after extensive surgery.

March 2023 marks the third year anniversary of the end of my own cancer treatment. I feel extremely fortunate to have been one of the lucky ones!

It is imperative that research continues into finding a cure for cancer, so that one day families will not have to suffer the heartache and pain that it causes. This is why I am donning my trainers once more and pounding the streets of London on April 23rd.

Cancer might not have affected you or your family and friends yet, however it seems to impact on everyone at some point. It does not discrimnate against age or lifestyle. Please, please, please, dig deep and help me achieve my target and make the challenge of the 41k seem worth it!!!
