My Story

Hello!

I am running the London Marathon in April to raise as much money as possible for a very important cause, Pancreatic Cancer UK.

To give a bit of background as to why I am running for such an important charity... a close family friend of mine and my bestie's Mum, Celia, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer back in March 2022 after noticing she was losing weight and knowing that something didn't feel quite right. She had surgery in May 2022 to remove her pancreas tail and spleen, followed by 6 months of fortnightly chemo. It has been an incredily challenging year for their family for more reason that one, please take a minute to read a little bit more about their story and fundriasing that Celia has been doing herself through the below links

London Marathon 2023 - Celia Knight Consulting

Celia Knight is fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund (justgiving.com)

Pancreatic Cancer UK research is significantly underfunded, currently receiving only 3% of the UK cancer research budget. More research is urgently needed in order to identify the early stages of the disease so that treatments can be effective for those diagnosed.

I have dabbled in running over the years, but never stuck at it for a long period of time or for anything longer than a 10k and so i don't doubt that training for this will test me both mentally and physically, however rest assured as I do have my very own dedicated (and strict) coach in the form of Harry (KOM of Regents Park IYKYK) to help motivate me through the journey! And of course Celia and Simon who have both run multiple marathons and who will be on call to provide me with much needed tips and advise over the next few months!

Feel free to follow the training journey along on https://www.strava.com/athletes/29816612

Thanks so much for taking the time to read, anything you are able to donate is massively appreciated!

Wish me luck and see you on the flip side!!
