My Story

Brain Research is close to my heart after seeing several family members and friends go through a multitude of brain related health issues from Migraine all the way through to Traumatic Brain Injury and Dementia.

I won't go into detail as it's a little too close at the moment but seeing those you love go through something you are powerless to help with is tough and want to support them in whatever way I can. If this means running the marathon to raise awareness and provide vital funds to continue research projects then sign me up.

It terrifies me that as we are starting to live longer the likelihood of one day having a brain related health concern increases. I want to make sure that the research is done now so we are armed with more information on indicators, earlier diagnosis, and alternative treatment options beyond what we already have in place currently.

I hope that long term quality of life can be improved beyond diagnosis and treatment and together, alongside the many other runners for Brain Research UK we can make an impact.
