Malachi’s Marathon

My Story

I have been been given the honour of running the London Marathon in memory of Malachi and to promote the work of the National Autistic Society. Malachi was diagnosed with Autism at 15, like many children it is a long and difficult process to get to this point. Tom, Theri and Hannah knew long before his diagnosis Malachi had different needs, that he saw and experienced the world differently to others.   Autism affects people in different ways, individuals have different strengths and weaknesses, it is thought that autism affects 1 in a 100 people, that’s over 700 000 in the UK alone! The National Autistic Society aims to create a society that works for people with Autism, by providing advice, support and guidance to parents, carers, businesses, governments, professionals to provide autism friendly places, better services and systems which support those with Autism.

When Malachi was 16 he did a run in support of the National Autistic Society, I’m doing the London Marathon to support you Malachi, to support your family and to support others with Autism.  Malachi inspired people through his love of music and dance, he was courageous pursuing his independence and career caring for others, he loved life, he loved and was loved. Tom, Theri and Hannah are dedicated to continuing to raise awareness for children and adults with autism, so that others are supported in their everyday lives.
