My Story

On 23rd April 2023, I will be running the London Marathon; an event I've always wanted to do.

I will be raising money for Cancer Research; a charity close to my heart. I have lost  grandparents and a very close friend to cancer. In 2019 my friend and teammate Nicola, sadly lost her fight with cancer at the age of 32. Nicola was the life and soul of our netball club and we miss her greatly. In my teenage years I lost grandparents to cancer, and saw how debilitating and cruel the disease can be; with my grandma sadly passing away on my 15th birthday. The pain I will go through for the marathon is nothing compared to the pain these special people have been through with cancer. Cancer Research is a charity I feel very passionately about.

Sadly, I am sure we all know of someone who has been affected by cancer, and I would love to be able to do my little bit to support research into finding better treatments or hopefully, a cure.

If you can donate anything, no matter how small, I would be most grateful. When I did the Yorkshire marathon in 2017, I said I'd never do one again....but here I am, 6 years later, preparing to stand at the start line for London.

1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime*, which is why I’m raising money for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.

Every single pound you donate makes a difference, so please sponsor me now and together we will beat cancer.
