My Story
I am running the London Marathon in April this year to support Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
GOSH treats the most seriously ill children from across the UK and sees the rarest and most difficult-to-treat childhood cancers.
On a personal note, GOSH has supported my family for the last 17 years. When my little sister Scarlett was born, no local doctors or specialists could identify Scarlett's condition or why she was covered in birthmarks. It wasn't until my parents reached out to Dr Kinsler at GOSH that they found out Scarlett had CMN (Congenital Melanocytic Naevus)
Over the last 17 years, Scarlett has visited GOSH twice a year for melanoma checks and appointments. As most of you know, Scarlett is now a happy and confident dancer, and some of this confidence comes from the team's support at GOSH.
The marathon presents an excellent opportunity to support this fantastic charity for everything they have done for my sister and family. This will be my first marathon, so it will be a challenge and a half, but nothing compared to what some families at GOSH go through.
Any donation, big or small, would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Issy x
