My Story

My profile picture for this page was taken on Christmas Day 2022, just after lunch. That flabby forty five year old is now going to run the London Marathon on 23 April 2023!

I'm running it for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). I haven't, luckily, had any personal experience of the hospital; but if my two children ever become seriously ill it's where I'd like them to be treated and looked after.

This year, GOSH's fundraising is focussing on childhood cancer. Every week, around five children in the UK lose their lives to cancer. That’s five families who are faced with the worst news possible. GOSH treats the most seriously ill children from across the UK and sees the most rare and difficult-to-treat childhood cancers.

By sponsoring me, you are making an impact in helping GOSH give children with cancer the extraordinary care, expertise and facilities they need. Together we can help beat childhood cancer.
