My Story

My story is a simple one. Two years ago I had never run more than a few laps in P.E. Class. Through creating the Irishman Running Abroad podcast with Sonia O'Sullivan I was given a chance to change my life. Instead of slobbering into middle age and being unhealthy, Sonia coached me to a sub-20 5K in the space of just 18 months and we created a gang that runs "together while we're apart" all over the world. Now I'm taking on my biggest challenge to date so that I can use this joyful thing to bring something even bigger to the children who benefit from the incredible work of the Menphy's Charity. My wife has worked with special needs children for years. I have seen the impact of charities like Menphy's. It's game changing for these kids. In the past I have helped them raise money by performing standup gigs at their headquarters. If I can raise £2,000 for them through the marathon, it will change the lives of so so many people and help Menphy's expand what they do. If I can raise more than that, well that would change things for years to come. Please join me on this journey, support the drive & listen each week to our podcast that will chart the journey. And if you're doing the same thing as me, the podcast will definitely help you.
