My Story

I knew I wanted to run a marathon and raise money for one of the many fantastic charities out there however with so many good causes it makes the decision of which charity much harder. I chose a charity to apply for that I felt touched on all the main areas I wanted to focus on and feel really privileged to have been selected by Children with Cancer UK.

My main focus points when selecting a charity

1.      Childrens health - Having spent weeks in hospital with each of our premature little girls and seeing the impact on our own and so many different families, a charity that supported children’s health was vital.

2.      Cancer research – Having lost 3 family members to cancer a charity that supported cancer research was my next prerequisite.

3.      Mental health – Having lost an immediate family member to suicide, a charity that supported mental health was my last prerequisite

I knew I was asking a lot but the charity had to be right if I was going to run 26.2 miles for them and I found everything I wanted in Children with Cancer UK.

Do you have children? Can you imagine being told they have cancer and the impact this would have on your entire family? How would you cope?

Please give generously to help me raise money to support children with cancer and their families whilst also providing vital research into the causes and treatment.

Thank you.
