My Story

I can't quite believe it but I'm doing the London Marathon on the 23rd April 2023! It's actually an assisted place and Naomi and Sam Drye will be pushing me around the course in my wheelchair. Running a marathon was high on my pre-cancer bucket list, but I didn't expect it to be quite like this, even so, what an opportunity! We're going to try and raise much-needed funds for the wonderful Sue Ryder Hospice at Thorpe Hall, who got my pain under control two years ago now and gave me back my life. I'd be so grateful for any donations you can make and I look forward to sharing the day with you all. I can't believe I'm going to tick this off my bucket list, whilst hopefully giving something back to the hospice.

Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – we’re there when it matters. Our doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
