My Story
So, I promised my family and friends there would be no more challenges, I failed in keeping that promise.
For those that don't know me, I've suffered with Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) for almost 30 years. During all this time I've tackled the aches, pains, scars and embarrassment of having this condition. I hide this by pushing myself to the limit. Some days are good some are bad. All of this whilst still serving the Armed Forces as an officer in the Royal Engineers.
Arthritis is an hidden disability for some but with PsA I have the added burden of a skin disorder also. Over the years I've managed to hide the embarrassing issues but it got to a stage where I required more medical assistance. Every day was a challenge for me, especially in the environment that I work. Thankfully I've had fantastic support from my family, friends and work colleagues.
I complete challenges to overcome my own and 2023 will see me tackle numerous, leading up to running a 100km (Race to the Stones) in July , hopefully under 13 hours. London Marathon is part of that journey. I can't think of a better charity to raise funds for than Versus Arthritis. The work they do to try and improve the lives of those suffering with all ranges of Arthritis is fantastic.
Please, join my journey and help me reach my target raising funds for Versus Arthritis and help me achieve another challenge. My arthritis isn't good at the moment and your kind generosity will spur me on and ultimately reach my end goals.
Thanks in advance and please share with your friends to help me on my way. Thank you.
