My Story
After 7 years of trying I was lucky enough to get a ballot entry into this years London Marathon on the 23rd April - this has been on the bucket list for some time!
Several people have mentioned they would like to sponsor me, so I have chosen to run and raise money for the British Dupuytren’s Society https://dupuytrens-society.org.uk/
I had a small lump in the arch of my right foot which over time slowly got larger and more painful and in 2019 I had surgery to remove it. It was only after this that I found out what I had was a Plantar Fibroma - also know as Ledderhose Disease or Dupuytren’s Of The Foot and the worse thing to have done is surgery !!
My right foot is sore from the scar tissue following the operation and recently I have noticed a lump also appear on my left foot arch - but this is not bothering me at the moment.
This condition is known to run in the family and my mum has had both her hands treated for Dupuytrens.
Prior to my foot operation I have run 6 Half Marathons, but London will be my first full Marathon and a challenge with my sore foot!
