My Story

After recovering from prostate cancer last year ( including dying briefly on the operating table! ) i decided to prove to myself i am still alive by giving myself a 60th birthday present of running the London Marathon .    Luckily my daughter Emily has also got the Gold masochistic gene and decided to run it again this year after a succesful debut run last year in a whisker over 4 hours , so we will be plodding around together as a "Beauty and the beast"  duo. ( Not literally , fancy dress is a step too far i think! )

We are raising money  for  the MicroLoan Foundation, which is a charity that fits well with my passion for Agriculture and a belief that empowering women leads to great outcomes.  MicroLoan provides women in sub-Saharan Africa ( mainly small scale farmers) with business training and small loans starting from as little as £25 to help them work their way out of poverty.
