My Story

I was lucky enough to have been given a place in 2020 to run the london marathon for the firefighters charity, but unfortunately the world had different ideas and covid hit, changing all plans!

this didn't deter me however, and I took part in the first ever virtual london marathon in October 2020, running around the town and local villages for the whole 26.2 miles and ending with a finish line at Bourne fire station being met by the crew and my mum and daughter.

I thought this was it, but after the virtual marathon they announced that all runners who missed the opportunity to run around london would be offered another place over the next 3 years! I may have had to wait the 3 years but this year I have my slot, and I will be running round london with pride wearing the firefighters charity vest!

this charity means a lot to me even more now, not only as i work for the fire service and they help my colleagues all over the country, but they also supported me with counselling during the lock downs following a miscarriage and being unable to process the experience!

I have previously raised over £2000 for the charity, but I would love to be able to add to that total as a way of saying thank you!
