My Story

I'm running the London marathon and raising money for Hospice UK! Hospice UK is the national charity for hospice and end of life care. They work to ensure that everyone affected by death, dying and bereavement gets the care and support they need, when they need it. They support over 200 local hospice organisations, as well as making an impact nationally.

I vaguely remember cross country running from my school days, where due to my build I found it reasonably straightforward. I, therefore, nonchalantly started running recently to discover that the intervening nearly fifty years of not running at all has left me finding it anything but straightforward. My legs and particularly my knees ached from day one and this shows no sign of abating. I think I have come to accept that Eluid Kipchoye's record breaking time of 2:02:37 in 2019 is likely to be safe again this year from this quarter.

I have always been touched deeply by the care and loving support hospices provide. With little government funding these amazing organisations rely almost entirely upon charitable donations. If you feel like me then they and I would be so very grateful for what support you felt you could give. Thank you.
