Whatever you call me 😂 ..

I am running the London Marathon 23/4 for The Royal British Legion in honour of Mark.

In 2012 The RBL kindly reached out to me and provided invaluable help that I would never have been able to ask for, for myself. So when I was offered a place to run for them this April, I felt very grateful that I would have an opportunity to give a little back for the support they gave me.

Personally I have taken part in events in Archie's name and for charities closely linked to him that I feel myself and Mark would have chosen. This time I felt strongly that I was ready to take part in something for Mark.

Running always reminds me of Mark, he would laugh telling me stories about how in PT whether hungover, sick or just feeling physically unfit he would still run until he was sick to come first, sticking his belly out to show anyone who thought they were fitter that they were beat to the end by Burgo and his belly .. if you know you know. I have a pic somewhere..

he was always so determined to do his best and always with that same humour. I didn't know it at the time but through the grief of losing our son Archie those two qualities alone also taught me how to move forward through the loss of Mark. I know when those miles get tough- he will be cheering me on and he knows I won't quit because he taught me not to.

I have already met my target of £2000 reaching more than £3200 with offline donations to be added later this week. I wanted to wait until I had already reached the goal before I posted this link as I understand now is not a time to be asking for people to give. I am also very aware that I have asked a lot of you all in the past in donations for various events in both Mark and Archie's memory. I am forever grateful for both your kindness and your generosity in helping me raise money for these wonderful charities and also for your support of myself throughout.

with no pressure, I would like to now share the link so that if you would like to sponsor me and donate to RBL, you can.

I will also be thinking of my Gramps who served very proudly in the Merchant Navy and hoping his many stories will keep me smiling until the finish.

Having a strong military family background makes me feel so proud to be wearing the RBL vest.

Thank you so much xxxx
