My Story

This is not a typo; I am going to be running the London Marathon in April 2023!!

My 3-year-old niece, Delilah, was just 6 weeks old when she was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a rare Liver Disease found in 1 in 17000 babies. After several weeks of scans, blood tests and a liver biopsy, she required an operation known as a Kasai procedure to try and prolong the life of her liver. She now requires daily medication and 6-monthly visits to Kings College Hospital. Unfortunately, there is no cure for Biliary Atresia and 80% of children diagnosed will require a liver transplant by the time they are 20.

Delilah is an incredible little girl who has always got a smile on her face and a joy to be around. It is a great honour that I will be running the London Marathon for Children's Liver Disease Foundation.

The tailored support and research into all aspects of childhood liver diseases that CLDF carry out is so important. To raise money for this cause will enable the continuation of this incredible work, giving hope to so many children and families.

It may come as a surprise to many, I am currently not very fit and this is going to be a huge challenge, however I am looking forward to training hard and raising as much money as possible for this amazing charity.

With a sub 5 hour time and £2000 donation target... Thank you all in advance for your support. See you on the flip side!
