My Story

On Sunday 23 April I am hoping my no drinking and early morning training sessions pay off and I can complete the London Marathon!!

I'm running for Aberdeen Cyrenians  who I have been volunteering with for six months, because they are a local, independent charity offering a helping hand to anyone in crisis. The charity provides 11 different services which support people that are homeless, at risk of losing their home through poverty, fleeing abuse, challenged by mental ill-health or addiction.

In 2022, Aberdeen Cyrenians experienced a 600% increase in referrals and a 451% increase in fuel poverty support needs.

£3 ensures a warm welcome with tea and biscuits to all people who ask the Cyrenians for help

£15 lets someone who doesn't have a home have a 15 minute chat with a support worker

£25 provides support, food parcels and comfort to those in crisis

£40 changes lives by providing activities for someone who is lonely
