My Story
Hi All,
Thank you for taking time to read my story......
On Tuesday 10th January 2023 , I received and urgent email followed by a phone call from Jess Robinson, the Events and Community Coordinator for Isabel Hospice. One of their TCS London Marathon Gold Bond Runners had to withdraw and they desperately needed someone to take up the reins ( or in this case trainers!) The marathon was just 15 weeks away at this point, and someone was needed to take the place, or risk losing out on valuable places next year.
I have been running marathons for 10 years, since turning 50, when my aim was to complete just 1! Last year I turned 60, and pledged to do my last marathon (my 14th), in London in October 2022, which I duly did for the Willow Foundation.
I can imagine that most people reading this story have some connection to Isabel Hospice, either on a personal level or someone they know. I know I have. Isabel Hospice is OUR HOSPICE. We don't get hospice help at a national level in this area, which makes it all the more essential to raise the funds to keep their incredible legacy going.
So in order to justify the place I have been asked to and agreed to take , I have to raise a minimum of £1500 in the next very few weeks.
My training is up to speed as I have been running in support of members of the Lindsey Fitness Running Club already entered this year. I am at this point frantically organising a Quiz night and Raffle .Date and Venue NOW CONFIRMED. Scroll Down to see Events and Online Raffle Details.
I am desperate to support Isabel Hospice and acheive raising this amount (or more) for them. I'll will gladly run the 26.2 miles for a donation however small at this time ... many steps make miles and many pennies make pounds after all!
Isabel Hospice and the amazing work they do year in year out is worth every penny and every mile. Thank you in anticipation of your help for my urgent appeal xxx
