My Story
So here we are again, London Marathon no.3!
My first one in 2015 (above) was a amazing experience, real tough and the pain was immense, but not only did I raise money, it give me a love of running that changed my life. My second one in 2020 was the lockdown Virtual London Marathon and I was happy to get out of the house for 4 hours! But now I’m ready to take on 26.2 miles again and this time it’s personal!
This year, I’m raising money for the National Autistic Society. When my youngest son, Kit was diagnosed with Autism, their website and advice was incredibly helpful and made me realise that having an Autistic child is not as scary as I initially thought. Kit is a wonderful boy and makes us all smile everyday. He is without a doubt the bravest person I know, he manages to work hard everyday at a large busy school and I’m incredibly proud of him. I know lots of people on the spectrum and everyone is different and amazing in their own way!
By running this Marathon allows me to give something back to the National Autistic Society, every £ will not only help families with Autistic children, but supports people on the spectrum too. This is comforting to me knowing that Kit can always get help and advice from the NAS and other people like him. Please do visit https://www.autism.org.uk to see all the amazing work they do for the Autistic community.
I know times are tough at the moment but if you can spare a few pounds, please do help out by sponsoring me to run for a very long time!
Big Love
