My Story

Hi, my name is Manju Patwari.

The Institute of Cancer Research is very close to my heart. I have seen cancer affect so many people - my grandmother, my father-in-law, my sister-in-law, my cousin, friend and work colleague. I have seen first hand both how much suffering it causes, but also how much treatments have improved as a result of research over the years.

I started running at my local parkrun a few years ago, and I enjoyed it so much because its something anyone can do. I started doing longer distances, kept myself going by just putting one foot in front of the other. I'm so happy to have the opportunity to be able to run for the Institute of Cancer Research, to both help the cause, but also realise my dream of completing the London Marathon.

Thanks for supporting me - I hope that in some small way, our efforts will help those who are affected by cancer.
