My Story

Hello! I am taking on the TCS London Marathon in 2023 for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

I don't really like running, and my mate, Leigh, who I am running with, is really good at it, so I'm just focussing on raising money for SSAFA and getting around without puking.

£2500 is a lot of money to raise, but I think I can do it...

SSAFA helps service people when they need it most. I've seen people hit rock bottom and be really helped out by SSAFA, so I want to raise awareness in the Regiment and on camp so that everyone knows that SSAFA is there for them, and that it's a good idea to support the charity when you are fit and healthy because you never know when you might need them to support you or your family.

Leigh and I will be running fundraising events at work, but it would be really helpful if anyone who wanted to support SSAFA could donate here - there is gift aid added and the money goes straight to the charity. Also, my fundraising rep will then see that I'm not being totally useless and that I might actually raise the full amount I pledged.

THANK YOU!

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of practical, emotional, and financial support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need. In 2021 our trained teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 66,000 people, from Second World War veterans to those who have served in more recent conflicts, or currently serving (both regulars and reserves), and their families.
