My Story

On the 4th June 2012 our beautiful little Daisy, at just 2 years old, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma……cancer!! She was given less than 30% chance of survival. The world as we knew it stopped and a whirlwind of tests and treatments began. Over the next 18 months our little princess would endure 6 rounds of chemotherapy, have her stem cells removed and frozen, high dose chemotherapy, an auto-transplant to put back the stem cells, 21 sessions of radiotherapy, retinoic acid treatment and finally be part of an immunotherapy clinical trial. It was as awful as it sounds, she suffered but she also fought, so hard, and is now a healthy, happy 13 year old!! We couldn’t be prouder.

Our story is a happy one, one that thanks to amazing charities such as children with cancer UK and the research etc they do, our daughter is here to tell. Without charities such as this though we could be telling a very different story, one that doesn’t bear thinking about.

On April 23rd I will be running(ish) the London Marathon to raise essential funds for Children with Cancer UK, a charity that fund lifesaving research, support families of children with cancer and raise awareness of this awful disease in kids. Around 4500 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK alone, we need to find a cure!!

If you can please donate to this wonderful cause here, if not please share the page and let’s see what we can do.

I pray that you never have to go through what we as a family went through, but if you do, know that charities like Children with Cancer UK, are working away in the background to support you.

Thanks for reading! 😊
