My Story

Over 30 years ago my wife was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, at the time the specialist told us we had not won the lottery and he was right.

Since then she has managed the impacts of the disease every day so that our family life has been as normal as possible and our two sons have grown up in a stable and loving environment. She has also not allowed the disease to stop her from doing many of those things which she wanted to do.

Her ability to lead a near normal life in a large part is due to the skill and dedication of the team of neurologists at the North Shore Hospital in Sydney.

Cure Parkinson's has just released updates on their trials that will slow PD  and research into reversing the effects. All this work needs to be funded. (www.cureparkinsons.org.uk)

It is therefore time I did something to help her and all those who suffer from PD. I have never run a marathon before but given this chance then I think it is the least I can do.

I will finish, even if I have to walk!
