My Story

It is an honour to run the 2023 London Marathon on behalf of Sporting Equals and the LeaderBoard programme.

Sport has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, having been a gymnast from a young age until I found a love and skill in hockey at 12 years old, one that I am fortuante to uphold even now that I am significantly older!

Sport and physical activity has obvious physical benefits but also the mental health ones, the sense of community and support being integral to this, as well as an opportunity to excel in channels other than academia, which was not such a strong suit for me personally.

The fact is that the opportunities I have had to run, do yoga and play hockey for example, are not there for everyone and that is not right and saddens me. A fundamental reason for this is down to the lack of diversity and representation in leadership positions.

LeaderBoard provides that route to greater representation at Board Room and senior management level. It empowers the participants to not simply tick a box, but to be heard and to do so powerfully.

The running and sporting community  that I am fortunate to have in abundance around me are immensely special and I would be so grateful for your support as well as those that maybe even only dream of running 5k one day...please donate and maybe be inspired go for a run! Thank you all for your support.
