My Story

On Sunday 23rd April 2023, I am running the London marathon, raising funds for Dementia UK

Having only started running and completing my first half-marathon in 2021, this will be my first attempt at the full marathon distance. I would really appreciate your support to provide me with much needed encouragement during the many hours of long and cold training sessions over the next 4 months.

I am running the marathon in memory of my Nan (Kath) and my Father-in-Law (Fitz), who both sadly passed away from vascular dementia.

Dementia UK fund, support and develop specialist dementia nurses called Admiral nurses. They provide life changing support for families affected by dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They can help people living with dementia to stay independent for longer, as well as providing much needed support for the loved ones caring for them.

It is estimated that 850,000 people in the UK have dementia, so spreading awareness and raising funds for Dementia UK will make a meaningful difference to them and their loved ones.

Thankyou for your support.
