My Story

I'm running the London Marathon in memory of our good friend, Amanda Chalker and to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Mandy, was my wife's best friend of 35 years. She was such a selfless person, and extremely ambitious, but always considered others, recommending, and nurturing many people, whilst pursuing her own career.

She was a loving daughter, mum, wife, sister, and aunt. She sadly lost her life to pancreatic cancer just after her 59th birthday. Way too soon. She is sorely missed by so many people.

Pancreatic cancer is seldom detected at its early stages when it's most curable. It’s often called “the silent killer,” since most patients don't experience symptoms until the cancer has spread to surrounding organs. Diagnosis of pancreatic cancer still carries a poor prognosis compared with other cancers, it warrants greater investment in research and treatment.

Pancreatic Cancer UK do excellent work in funding research as well as supporting families affected.

My ambition, by running the marathon, is to raise awareness and help to fund research.

Thank you very much for your donations.
