My Story

Hello!

I have run a few half marathons in my time, but this is my first full marathon!

I was inspired to run this marathon for Blood Cancer UK, in memory of my friend Sinead. Sinead was my first proper friend at university, and it is thanks to her that I was able to make more friends. We became close, and she looked after me and included me in social events even when I was reluctant and shy. I have many fond memories of revising and partying together late into the night.

While I was studying for a silly humanities degree, Sinead was studying Cancer Biology and Immunology as she wanted to help people fight cancer. Now, it is my turn.

Sinead sadly passed from Blood Cancer in September 2021. I hope running for Blood Cancer UK will be a good way to honour her, to remember her, and to help continue a cause she worked so hard towards fighting.
