My Story

Here we are then, I'm running my first marathon...or, I should say, will be trying to!!!

On Sunday 23rd April 2023 I will hit the pavements of London in the bid to tick this off my bucket list! I have entered the ballot three times and been unsuccessful. I promised myself if this happened again I'd go for a charity place. I did, I was lucky in being successful and well here we are.

Anyone that knows me well will know that I am extremely determined to complete this, even if I crawl over the line. Now, for the next 16 weeks in my house we will be mainly calling this event every chocolate 🍫 bar apart from a marathon (snickers!) I am not at all in denial!😂

On a serious note...

I have chosen to run for the National Autistic Society. This is immensely close to my heart, both personally and professionally. If I can make even a small difference by reaching my target and donating  money to such a worth while charity I will be chuffed. Also, I do this to raise awareness and open eyes to neurodiversity.

I found out I'd officially got my place on 29.11.22. Although that I'm lucky that I'm starting my training at a half marathon distance it will still be tough training in the winter months.

So far I've been getting up at 5.30am to get shorter runs in and now I will focus on the longer ones. Sliding around in -8 like Bambi on ice has been entertaining some mornings! However, nothing will stop me now.

Over the next few months I have a few fundraising events in the pipeline. I would be SO grateful for everyone and anyone to come along and support my charity, or spare a penny or pound or two by donating.

Thank you for reading a true 'Rebecca Ramble'! 💜 And, thank you in advance for your support x
