My Story

On 23rd April I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for YoungMinds, a mental health charity that supports young people with mental health challenges of all types, and those who care for them.

YoungMinds' goal is to enable all young people to get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what. Our NHS, whilst marvellous in many, many respects, simple isn't able to deal with the numbers of young people who need help with their mental health - and to be able to intervene before an issue becomes a crisis.

In 2020 during the pandemic I ran the virtual marathon to raise money for the same charity and their work now is even more important than it was then.

It costs over £6m a year to provide these critical services with 60% coming from donations and fundraising.
