My Story

On Sunday April 23rd 2023 I will be running the London Marathon in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

This wonderful charity offers unique support and care for young people facing cancer in the the UK. TCT funds specialised nurses, youth workers and hospital units in the NHS. I had the privilege of working on one of these units as a staff nurse in the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.

These specially designed spaces can help young people facing cancer feel more at home, allow them to meet others their age, welcome family and friends while getting the very best care from a dedicated multi-disciplinary team.

As some of you may know, this is not my first marathon but it will be my first official marathon event. To be given the opportunity to run the London Marathon is a dream come true but to run it in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust is something I am very proud of.
