My Story
My story.....
My Grandpa, Mr Ian Black...growing up he was as strong an ox! Head of the family, he was fun but made me feel safe. After my granny passed, he continued on but aging and worsening health took there toll. My Grampa was eventually diagnosed with leukaemia, he made the decision not to go head with further treatment. This was when our family were introduced to Macmillian.
Macmillan allowed my grampa to stay at home (the home he built for him and my beautiful granny) having the dignity and comfort to pass away where he wanted to be. Macmillian provided my Mum and my Aunts with the support and equipment, allowing them to cherish their Dad, my gramps till the very end. Forever Grateful.
Unfortunately cancer continues to effect so many and for our family, we are no different, as my Aunt is now fighting her own battle. On a recent visit to the West of Scotland Cancer Centre, it is all too obvious how much Macmillian is used and relied on in so many differents ways.
I am running this Marathon for my family but for anyone who has touched by cancer. Please Donate, thank you 😊
