My Story

I am fundraising for the Mary Ann Evans Hospice in Nuneaton. Each year as a child growing up I have supported the hospice's sunflower appeal by helping to serve tea at my grandma's annual fundraiser. This year I have decided to take on the challenge of raising funds for this deserving charity myself by setting myself the goal of running the London marathon.

Our local hospice supports people and their families who are suffering with life limiting illness. Their Wellbeing Centre and community support services aim to provide quality of life and choices about care and symptom relief. I want to ensure this service is always available to families in my community, as the hospice offers relief and support at a time when it is most needed.

Those who know me will be aware of my passion for sport – particularly tennis and running. I completed my first half marathon virtually during the national lockdown and then went onto run it again when the event returned to Coventry. I wanted to challenge myself further so the London Marathon seemed like the ideal way to test my skill and show my support for a local charity that is close to my family.

I am aiming to complete the marathon in under four hours, which is requiring a considerable amount of training and hard work! Knowing that each step of training is helping to make a difference to families at what could be the hardest times of their lives, is what will drive me forward.

Thank you in advance for your support. You can read more about the Mary Ann Evans Hospice on their website to understand more about the amazing work they do and how this fundraiser can help make a difference.
