My Story

Oh blimey.

I can't really believe I'm typing these words, but I'm RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON!

Not Paula Radcliffe, not Mo Farah, but me, Sam Walker, whose idea of a top evening is a nice long bath whilst eating chocolate. Sam Walker who was always picked last for sport at school and has never run more than 10km.  Eep.

It's happening.

Why?

Well, because what is life for if not for doing things that scare you, that make you feel alive? Things that have always sat there, perched on your shoulder whispering in your ear "What if....?"

But lots of us are too scared to answer that question and some aren't lucky enough to ever have a chance to try all things we've dreamed about.

People I have known, cared about and loved have had their lives changed forever or tragically cut short by breast cancer.  My friend Faye, my colleague Rachael, my cousin Sara, my close friend Emma's sister Abigail, my Aunty Lorraine, my friend Ian's lovely mum.

Breast Cancer Now has a vision to make sure that by 2050, everyone with breast cancer lives, and lives well.

That's amazing.  So if hauling myself halfway around London in a haze of smiles, sweat and tears can help Breast Cancer Now in the tiniest of ways, then of course I have to give this a go.

Your support really means so much to me and so many people who love someone with breast cancer.

Lets help keep people who love each other together.

Better get my trainers on eh?

THANK YOU!
