My Story

When signing up for the London marathon in October 2022, not for a second did I think that I'd be running it in memory of Steve. I wholeheartedly believed he would be there cheering me on.

Steve was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel cancer in February 2022. He started to feel unwell on New Years Eve, just a few weeks prior.

Steve fought hard from day 1, never giving up and always looking on the positives. He had a gruelling 6 months of Chemotherapy which were so tough, the results after this time were amazing - showing no signs of active cancer in his body. This meant he could have an operation to remove the primary tumour in his Bowel.

Devastatingly, since the operation, the cancer came back. Really aggressively. Steve became very unwell, and we tried a new line of treatment which heartbreakingly didn't work.

Steve passed away on 18 December 2022, with myself his wife, Nat and our parents by his side.

I am running the London Marathon for Steve and raising money for Bowel Cancer UK, in the hope that one day no one else will have to go through what Steve has.

This is a MASSIVE challenge for me. I am not a runner (I did a half marathon back in 2015 but barely anything since then)

Please support me how you can and make sure you know the signs of Bowel Cancer
