My Story

I'm Simon – an NHS worker and freelance newsreader for LBC, Classic FM, Smooth and Gold radio – part of Global Media.  Global runs a fantastic charity called Global's Make Some Noise, which offers support to hundreds of small charities across the country.

These charities work in the very heart of communities, and they know first-hand what it’s like to live through the toughest of circumstances.

Global's Make Some Noise gives grants to small and local charities across the country because they believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, feel well, feel prepared and feel included. This year alone, it has been supporting crucial services at over 100 small charities, including food banks, mental health and domestic violence helplines, carer support, suicide prevention, community projects and employment programmes.

Since the lockdown, I’ve taken up running and enjoy the freedom and therapeutic benefits it brings.  I participated in the Great North Run last September and am hugely excited to be taking part in this year’s London Marathon.  Your support would mean a lot to me personally and could help change someone’s life 😊
