My Story
I lost my mum, aunt and father-in-law to cancer. I can’t bring them back by running a marathon, but I can raise money for Cancer Research by running one. Hopefully, my small contribution to the fight against cancer will help lead to fewer people experiencing such heart-breaking loss.
So, I’m asking you to dig deep to sponsor me. My part in the bargain? I won’t make it easy. I haven’t run a marathon for 10 years (you can see less grey hairs in the top picture!), and I plan to attempt taking 30 minutes off my best time of 4hrs & 30 minutes, to run the marathon in 4 hours. Having just turned 56, and carrying festive season excess weight, and to be honest, pre-festive season excess weight, it’s going to take dedication, restraint, and luck for me to drag my carcass around central London in that time.
Thanks in advance for all your generosity.
