Will you help me promote ethnic diversity across sport and physical activity?

I’m running the 2023 TCS London Marathon in aid of Sporting Equals, and I need your support. It’s some years since I’ve attempted to run a fast(ish) road marathon. I’ll be sharing my training journey each week, in the hope of tempting you to donate to this great cause.

Sporting Equals exists to promote ethnic diversity across sport and physical activity, and is the only organisation in the UK to do so. Set up in 1998 by Sport England, in partnership with the Commission for Racial Equality, Sporting Equals is now a fully independent body and a national partner of Sport England.

Sporting Equals has three primary aims:

1) To raise awareness and understanding of the needs of Ethnically Diverse Communities within the sports and health sector, in order to change attitudes and increase participation in sport and physical activity.

2) To empower individuals and communities to play a part in this change, and achieve their full potential through playing sport and being active.

3) To advise and support policy-makers and delivery bodies to be inclusive of all under-represented groups, drawing on experience with Ethnically Diverse Communities.

I’m aiming to raise £2500 for Sporting Equals. Every donation, however large or small, will help me achieve my target.
