My Story
The Rainbow Trust is a charity that I've supported for a long time. They work to support families of children who have life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses by providing them with support, advice, and opportunities to give children amazing experiences.
I first became aware of the rainbow trust about 20 years ago. My dad was working in a pub in Newark who were organising a charity night. Much debate was had over which charity to support until my dad suggested the rainbow trust as they were supporting a family he knew. This became the first in a series of charity events that were run by this pub. My dad took on his own pub a few years later, and he and I continued to run these events supported by the local community. When my dad passed away in 2014, the donations at his funeral were given to the rainbow trust and it is a charity that I have continued to support in memory of him. Having decided to do something as ridiculous as run the London Marathon, raising money for a cause that does such good and has a strong personal connection made perfect sense.
The marathon has always been an ambition of mine. However, I am not a fan of running and this is not going to be an easy challenge for me. Please support me in doing this. The money raised will support the important work that the rainbow trust does. To understand just what this money could mean to families, please watch these videos: https://www.rainbowtrust.org.uk/about/familystories
Thank you for your support. Wish me luck!
