My Story

Hi,

Next April I shall be running through the streets of London on what will be my biggest test ever... The London Marathon.

As many of you will know, I lost my amazing Mum to NET cancer in 2016. I have chosen to raise money for PLANETS, because it is close to my heart and they are the people who cared and treated my Mum from the beginning. They were a fantastic group of people who my Mum held in high regard.

The type of cancer Mum died from can be incredibly difficult to spot, as it is slow growing and if I can, I want to help other families and loved ones in detecting this early which can improve the outlook for everyone.

As always, these things take time and money for advancements to be made. To find out more about PLANETS and the amazing work they do, click here:

I won't lie, it's always been a dream of mine and on my bucket list to run the London Marathon, and I've been applying since the time of the dinosaurs 🦕 to get a ballot place!

It's a huge privilege to now have this chance to run.

If you have anything you feel you can donate to this cause, I would be so grateful. Everything counts, and I appreciate times are super hard right now.

By doing this, I hope it will be an incredibly positive experience that can light up the sadness we all have to go through sometimes. It's going to be a journey of pain and inspiration!

Finally I would like to dedicate this race to my amazing Mum, who I miss so much, but also to all of you out there who has ever lost somebody you love, who should be here with us but are not. In memory of them also.

Thank you for taking the time to read this :)

Love Steve x
